Sunday September 30
Depart Hagerstown, Greencastle and Chambersburg for Two Trees Inn at Foxwoods Casino in Mashantucket, CT where we spend the night. Buffet Dinner and $10 Slot Play Voucher included. Breakfast, Lunch and Rest Stops enroute.
Monday October 1
We travel north today to the coast of New Hampshire where we’ll drive along the shore passing elegant mansions and the converted Tower House once used to spot enemy battleships during WW II. We’ll have lunch on our own in historic Portsmouth and continue up the coast with a stop at Stonewall Kitchen, the specialty food producer based in York. The company was founded as a homemade products stall at a local farmers market in 1991 and today sells in 42 counties worldwide. They make items such as jam, chutney, jellies, grill sauce, cooking oil and mustard. We overnight tonight in So. Portland, ME. Dinner is included. (B)
Tuesday October 2
We leave our hotel and travel to Portland, Maine’s largest city and board a ferry for a pleasant trip across Casco Bay through the islands to Bailey Island and lunch at Cook’s Lobster & Ale House. Following lunch we continue north to Boothbay Harbor for a two- night stay. (B,D)
Wednesday October 3
After breakfast, we’ll have a lazy start to the day, with free time this morning to browse the boutiques and visit the attractive shops along the harbor.
The afternoon we visit the Boothbay Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens which offer everything from manicured formal gardens, waterfalls and spectacular stonework, to rambling paths down to a mile of waterfront under a natural tree canopy.
Dinner is once again included. (B,D)
Thursday October 4
Today we continue up the coast to Bar Harbor. Driving north along the rocky coast we’ll travel through some of Maine’s most beautiful towns. In places like Rockland and Camden we may see windjammers at anchor and Friendship Sloops in the harbor.
In Bar Harbor, we will have time for lunch and to visit the shops and sights of this ocean front town.
Later we’ll spend time exploring Mount Desert Oceanarium and lobster hatchery where we’ll have an up close and personal introduction to the denizens of the Maine coast. Well check into our hotel and have a wonderful Dinner together. (B,D)
Friday October 5
Today we spend time discovering the charm of Acadia National Park, one of the only National Parks east of the Mississippi. We’ll ride to the top of Cadillac Mountain for the delightful view of Frenchman’s Bay. We’ll continue on the Loop Road with stops at the Visitors Center, Sieur de Monts Spring and Thunder Hole to name a few.
This evening we enjoy a traditional Lobster Bake with all the fixins! (B,D)
Saturday October 6
We’ll check out of our hotel and travel south into western Maine. Ride the Chondola up to Sunday River's North Peak to take in views of the Sunday River Valley and Mahoosuc Mountain Range. We’ll check into our hotel, the Sunday River Resort. We’ll unload our bags and depart once again for a tour of the area including Artist's Bridge so named because of its reputation as being the most photographed and painted of the venerable covered bridges in Maine. We continue to the scenic Screw Auger Falls on the way to Grafton Notch State Park for our dusk moose safari. Led by a certified Maine Moose spotter we ‘ll scout the nearby back roads for these impressive creatures. Dinner is included this evening. (B, D)

After breakfast we’ll depart for Foxwoods Casino for the night
Monday October 8
After included buffet breakfast we will depart for home with lunch stop and rest stops enroute.
