Day 1 – Saturday, October 31, 2020

5:30 p.m. –   7:00 p.m.          Evening kickback at hotel featuring free hot food and cold beverages.

                                                Dinner on own this evening (there’s a Ruby Tuesday adjacent to the hotel and Café South is half a mile from the hotel).


Day 2 – Sunday, November 1, 2020

7:00 a.m. –   8:30 a.m.           Hot breakfast included at hotel.

8:30 a.m.                               Depart for Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden.

9:00 a.m.                               Admission included to Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden. The breathtaking Visitor Pavilion welcomes visitors to 110 acres of spectacular gardens including a children’s garden, a conservatory dedicated to the display of tropical plants and orchids, a Dry Piedmont Prairie, annual and perennial displays, sparkling fountains, walking trails, and much more. We’ll have a Garden Guide show us around and we’ll have a box lunch included!

12:00 p.m.                               Depart Charlotte for Charleston, SC .

4:00 p.m.                               Arrive Charleston. Meet our local representative and check-in:                  Holiday Inn downtown                                

6:00 p.m.                               Dinner tonight at a special seafood restaurant, Hyman’s.

                                                Following dinner, we’ll be joined by a local storyteller who will tell us some great low country tales.


Day 3 – Monday, November 2, 2020

7:00 a.m. –   9:00 a.m.           Full breakfast included at hotel.

9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.           Historical tour of Charleston.

11:00 a.m. –   1:00 p.m.          Lunch on own and free time at the Old City Market.

1:30 p.m. –   3:30 p.m.          Admission included to Boone Hall Plantation.

4:00 p.m.                               Return to hotel to freshen up.

6:15 p.m.                               Depart for Spirit of Carolina Yacht.

6:30 p.m.                               Boarding for the Spirit of Carolina begins.

7:00 p.m.                               Dinner cruise included aboard the Spirit of Carolina Yacht. There’s no better way to experience Charleston and her history than from the deck of a Spirtline Yacht……an unforgettable 3 hour cruise with breathtaking views of Charleston Harbor as you savor a 3 course meal (prepared to order).


Day 3 – Tuesday, November 3, 2020

7:00 a.m. –   7:45 a.m.           Full breakfast included at hotel.

7:45 a.m.                               Depart Charleston for Wadmalaw Island .

8:30 a.m.                               Visit to Charleston Tea Plantation, the only tea plantation in the United States. Observe the process of making tea in our factory from the "Tourway" where you’ll hear and see all about the world of tea. Visit the Gift Shoppe for unique merchandise and take home a supply of American Classic Tea. Take the narrated bus tour through the farm for unforgettable views.

12:00 p.m.                               Depart Wadmalaw Island for Savannah, GA with box lunch included.

3:00 p.m.                               Arrive Savannah. Meet our local representative and check-in:                               Springhill Suites Historic District              

                                                Free time to freshen up at hotel or wander down to River Street.

5:00 p.m.                               Dinner included at Mrs. Wilkes Boarding House.


Day 4 – Wednesday, November 4, 2020

                                                Hot breakfast included at hotel.

                                                Meet your guide in the lobby for an exciting day in Savannah – Georgia’s first city!

9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.           Informative tour of historic Savannah.

                                                The morning two hour tour of the Landmark Historic District is chock full of beautiful homes, and the finest urban forest in the country with its 25 parks in one square mile.  Savannah is the real deal, a living history museum, not a theme park.  Visitors will enter St. John the Baptist cathedral and well as one it the famous squares to experience its greatest uniqueness, the 1733 City Plan which is still alive and well today.

11:00 a.m. –   1:00 p.m.          Lunch on own and free time for shopping on River Street.

1:00 p.m. –   4:00 p.m.          Low Country Tour, to include Tybee Island, Fort Pulaski, and a stop at River Street Sweets, where we’ll get a fresh praline sample!

                                                The afternoon Low Country Tour gives guests the opportunity to see several other beautiful historic districts..including the Victorian Section and the Beaus Arts designed Ardsley Park.  Taste treats await you at River Street Sweets, then on to Tybee Island past famous Ft. Pulaski and the unique salt marshes that separate the barrier islands from the mainland.  We will stop at the lighthouse, then enjoy some time at the beach.  The Victorian Lady will entertain you with songs and tales of interesting local legends en route, as well as answer all your questions about this unique part of Coastal Georgia.

4:00 p.m.                               Return to hotel to freshen up.

4:30 p.m.                               Depart for Lady & Sons Restaurant.

5:00 p.m.                               Dinner included at Paula Deen’s Lady & Sons Restaurant.

8:00 p.m.                               SHOW: at the historic Savannah Theatre


Day 5 – Thursday,November 5, 2020

                                                Hot breakfast included at hotel.

9:00 a.m.                               Depart Savannah for Mount Airy, NC .

4:30 p.m.                               Arrive Mount Airy. Check-in:                                                                                 Hampton Inn                                             

6:00 p.m.                               Dinner included at Golden Corral, to include some time with Brack Llewellyn, a local storyteller in the Mount Airy area.


Day 6 – Friday, November 6, 2020

6:00 a.m. –   8:30 a.m.           Deluxe continental breakfast included at hotel.

8:15 a.m.                               Depart to pick up guide for tour of Mount Airy.

8:30 a.m.                               Brief tour of Mount Airy (the original Mayberry).

10:30 a.m.                               Admission included to the Andy Griffith Museum.

11:30 a.m.                               Depart for home (326 miles).
